Walking Football Rules

                              My job is your safety

The job of a walking football referee is to keep everyone safe and injury free. The reason walking football was introduced was to give older members of the community a chance to enjoy football at a relaxed pace and get into a social environment to meet like-minded individuals. The rules reflect this The main ones being:

1 No running, (on or off the ball.)

2 No tackling from the rear or sides, and a minimum of tackling from the front.

3 The ball must remain below head approx 1.83 meters.

4 Teams are 5,6, or 7 a-side for friendly and club sessions (tournaments are  6 a-side.)

5 The goalkeeper is not allowed outside of the marked area, and no outfield is permitted within the area.

6 ALL free kicks are indirect.

As a WFA ref I take the role seriously, safety and enjoyment are what's important, not the scores.

Abusive speech or conduct will not be                                           tolerated

                       Vince, WFA Referee
